The budget constraints at my first job as art director led me to photograph or illustrate over 225 covers myself. I made one a week, roughly every week for six years, typically with no budget at all. It was an invaluable education in design for someone who went to college for creative writing and filmmaking. ΒΆ This gallery is a sampling of magazine covers I designed between 2003 to today, representing my work at Men's Journal, Runner's World, Boston magazine, Seattle Met and Las Vegas Weekly. It also includes a 2001 book cover I illustrated and designed for former Soul Coughing frontman Mike Doughty.
